Psalms 98
Music accompanies our most joyful celebrations and comforts us in our greatest sorrows. The act of singing together enables us to be one, to breathe together the breath of God.
For millennia our ancestors have sung in choirs praising God. At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, as described in Nehemiah 12, they celebrated joyfully with songs of thanksgiving and with the music of cymbals, harps, lyres and trumpets. The account describes two large choirs singing praises from the top of the wall. The sound of rejoicing in Jerusalem could be heard far away.
